GP IT funding is devolved to local area teams, but clinical commissioning groups are yet to see the cash, and a new e-referrals system is due to be in place by December this year.

Four new enhanced services for GP practices include investment in risk stratification, telehealth and online patient access. 
A Surrey community provider has built an interface out of RiO to send digital discharge summaries to GPs.
iQ Medical has added a new module to the iQ Budget Manager that enables GPs to predict the cost of selected care pathways, based on the national tariff or agreed local tariffs. During a GP consultation, a Predictive Pathway Cost screen will be automatically displayed in the patient record screen from the clinical system, alerting the GP to possible interventions. This is an overlay window so it does not affect the clinical system.

Bury Council's Children's Services has chosen Liquidlogic's Protocol Integrated Children's System, after an assessment and tester exercise that involved social workers, support staff and senior managers. The Liquidlogic system will give social worker managers a clear overview of case work and should help social workers themselves spend more time with families, by reducing the amount of time they spend on data entry.
