Northumbria Healthcare links Lilie and Sunquest ICE

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has become the first in the country to submit pathology requests electronically from Blithe Computer Systems' Lilie software via Sunquest ICE. The sexual health team at the trust is using Sunquest ICE to electronically request tests from the pathology service and receive the results in the patient's medical record, which is held within Lilie. The system has been set up so that test results are anonymised, and cannot be viewed by other users of Sunquest ICE. It has speeded up tests and cut paper.

Macclesfield gets close to discharge target

Macclesfield District General Hospital is now hitting the target to deliver disharge notification forms to GPs within 24 hours in 84% of cases, thanks to an electronic link-up to 56 GP practices, designed by Medisec Software. The trust worked with local GPs and Royal College of Physicians guidance to create a template discharge notification form, that is then delivered electronically to surgeries. Previously, it could take six weeks for a letter to be typed and dispatched.
