GP IT funding is devolved to local area teams, but clinical commissioning groups are yet to see the cash, and a new e-referrals system is due to be in place by December this year.

Four new enhanced services for GP practices include investment in risk stratification, telehealth and online patient access. 
A Surrey community provider has built an interface out of RiO to send digital discharge summaries to GPs.
Patients Know Best is working with the Thalidomide Trust to provide an e-health platform to help trust members to manage their health and well-being. The platform is based on Patients Know Best's personal health record and Skype contact service. It will include a libary of information about thalidomide related conditions, an instant medical history to give doctors and GPs a snapshot of a patient's overall health, and an online health journal that will enable doctors to track users' health over time, with user consent.

Scottish IT support and maintenance company Microtech and telehealth provider Telehealth Solutions ahve announced that they are "joining together" to deliver services to NHS customers in the north of England and Scotland. Microtech will install and maintain Telehealth Solutions' 'home pod' monitoring service, which allows people with long-term conditions to take and record tests on a tablet computer, and feeds the results to contact support centres.
