InTechnology buys United Telehealth

InTechnology, a cloud services provider, has acquired United Telehealth, as part of its stategic plans for growth. It has also taken a substantial stake in Healthsolve, a software developer. Bryn Sage, chief operating officer, said the moves would enable InTechnology to "add a patient-led, managed telehealth service to our existing suite of managed data and telephony services" and develop new healthcare applications to "provide an end-to-end service from patient to medical expert."

Kainos delivers bursary system to NHS Shared Business Services Authority

Kainos has delivered a web-based bursary system to the NHS Business Services Authority, in advance of new rules for NHS medical students being introduced in September. The system replaces an "antiquated" and "rigid" IT system that could only handle payments of more than £500m to 90,000 students each year after they had filled out a 14 page form and supplied a lot of additional information on paper. All this can now be provided through the web, while students can also monitor the status of their applications and payments using a secure, personalised log-in.
