A National Audit Office report reveals that 98% of NPfIT benefits are yet to be realised and a new comparison website is launched setting out the impact of deprivation on early mortality in England.

More than 100 GP practices are using an app to detect the early signs of dementia in older patients.
Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust went live with its Allscripts electronic patient record last weekend, three months ahead of schedule.
The Health Informatics Service has announced the development of a fibre-optic network from Virgin Media Business. The network will provide GPs and clinicians treating patients in the West Yorkshire region with faster access to information at their surgeries and health clinics. The service will be available to around 33,000 NHS staff and will ease the transfer of data between various health organisations.

Patients Know Best has secured £50,000 of funding from UnLtd, the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs, to match the £50,000 of investment from Silicon Valley investors. Patients Know Best was one of just eight social enterprises to be awarded the match funding, as part of UnLtd's Big Venture Challenge Award scheme. The patient-controlled medical records provider has also announced a number of new customers, including Evelina Children's Hospital in London, and said that it is operating in the USA, Nigera and South Africa.
