Irish GP systems get EuroRec quality seal

5 November 2008

Four general practice systems used in the Irish market have achieved the 2008 quality label, or seal, awarded by the European Institute for Health Records (EuroRec).

EuroRec is the European Commission funded-body responsible for the quality accreditation of electronic healthcare record systems.

The EuroRec Seal is intended to help promote cross-border harmonisation and compatability, as a step towards the interoperability of health information systems.

The four systems to have been approved are CompleteGP, version 2.1; Health One, version 6; Helix Practice Manager, version 1 of Helix Health; and Socrates, version 1.5.

Certification was performed by the GP IT National Group in Ireland, in line with the EuroRec defined quality criteria and procdures.

The certificate will be handed over during the Health Information Systems Ireland (HISI) conference on 19 November, Dublin. Once the seal has been handed over the four suppliers will be authorised to use the EuroRec 2008 logo on their products and documentation.
