TPP to add Numed Capture to SystmOne

Primary care system supplier TPP has announced plans to integrate an image capture device into its software SystmOne.

TPP and Numed, suppliers of diagnostic and patient monitoring devices, integrated Numed’s Biolog 3000i ECG device into SystmOne earlier this year and now plans to add Numed Capture.

Numed Capture is a specially designed auto-focus camera with integral illumination, powered from the computer’s USB port. It is intended to help monitor the progress of dermatological conditions but TPP says it can also be used anywhere a picture would help a descriptive text.

Numed said the product was a result of feedback from general practice where clinicians have reported that they miss being able to do a quick sketch in old Lloyd-George clinical notes.

Craig Hirst, head of technical services for Numed, said the company had integrated its ECG device with EMIS a few years ago and was now working with EMIS and TPP to integrate Numed Capture into its systems. Hirst told EHI Primary Care that the company had also been appointed UK distributor to integrate GE Healthcare’s range of medical devices in primary care and would be working with primary care IT suppliers EMIS, INPS and TPP over the next few months.

A spokesperson for TPP said the company’s aim was to integrate more devices into SystmOne to make clinicians’ lives easier and that it was also working with companies other than Numed to look at integrating their devices.
