EMIS partners with Ireland’s Helix Health

GP system supplier EMIS has announced a joint venture agreement with Helix Health, a key health IT supplier in the Republic of Ireland.

The partnership will see the two companies initially become resellers of each others systems, and eventually lead to joint developments from the system suppliers, in order “to enhance mutual market penetration.”

The new EMIS Dental system, as well as software components for primary care, will become available in Ireland through the Helix sales and support network.

Helix will also provide EMIS’ sales and support with training to distribute and support its QicScript range of pharmacy management software applications across the UK.

Sean Riddell, EMIS’ healthcare managing director, told EHI Primary Care: “The joint venture gives us the opportunity to extend our product offering into new markets, as well as working closely with Helix to bring benefits to our respective customers at a local level.

“Helix is the market leader in Ireland, especially in the pharmacy systems marketplace, and we are looking to offer their QicScript products to all our UK customers, as soon as our staff are fully confident with this additional range to our existing services catalogue.”

Both companies will gain access to each other’s valuable research and development expertise, in addition to software knowledge.

Consultations are currently under way decide how to localise their products for each marketplace, incorporating features and functionality that will benefit their respective customers.
