New-look SearchMedica launched

SearchMedica, the medical search engine controlled by medical professionals, has been re-launched.

The new version of the site features a re-designed home and results page, which according to SearchMedica makes the search engine more intuitive and easier to use.

Lisa Taylor, digital director of SearchMedica UK, said: “The information needs of healthcare professionals continue to change with the evolution of the industry and we must adapt to meet those needs. The latest developments to SearchMedica are designed to improve the user experience.

“They also enable us to provide UK healthcare professionals with information more quickly, so that they may treat their patients with the most authoritative and recent information at their disposal.”

SearchMedica’s results categories are designed to make searching quicker for busy health professionals, and with the re-design, they are now more prominent above the natural search results.

The websites architecture has been overhauled to make new developments quicker to introduce.

These include a new ‘Results from’ feature showcasing results from SearchMedica’s key partners such as Pulse, the Practitioner, C+D and GPnotebook, as well as a list of authoritative sites recommended by SearchMedica’s editorial team, including OnMedica and Doctors.net.

The website was launched by publishers CMPMedica, who publish the GP newspaper Pulse, in October 2006.
