Both the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust have upgraded their existing cassette-based computed radiography systems to wireless direct radiography systems from Agfa HealthCare. They have both opted for Agfa’s DX-D Retrofit, designed to enable a fairly easy transition from CR-based modalities to DR. Its NX workstation interface shares the same look-and-feel as Agfa's CR solutions, and it provides integration with radiology information systems, picture archiving and communication systems and other hospital-wide information systems. Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust also purchased Agfa’s DX-D 100 DR mobile X-ray unit, making it possible to take images on the ward that can then be seen immediately on the Agfa PACS system.
