Registration is now open for the EHI Live 2011 conference and exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham in November.
Readers can book now for the paid-for conference, which will be chaired by technology journalist Rory Cellan-Jones, and feature top-name speakers on NHS policy and IT issues.
Or they can register for the free exhibition, which will feature more than 100 stands from IT suppliers alongside presentations from the winners of the EHI Awards 2010 in association with BT and the popular Best Practice Showcase of great work going on in healthcare IT.
People working in the NHS can attend the conference for just £95 plus VAT for a day, including lunch. The NHS rate for both days is £171 plus VAT, while non-NHS delegates will be charged £269 plus VAT for a day and £484.20 plus VAT for both days.
EHealth Insider director Linda Davidson said: “This year’s conference programme will bring delegates up to date with the very latest developments in the government’s NHS reforms and what they mean for NHS managers and IT departments.
“It will also feature some of the work that is already being done to bring about the government’s promised Information Revolution for staff and patients.
“We know that it can be difficult for NHS staff to persuade their employers to let them attend events. However, we hope the combination of a great conference and an exciting exhibition will persuade them that if there is just one event everybody working in NHS IT should be going to this year it is EHI Live 2011.”
The conference will open on Monday, 7 November with the thoughts of lively policy expert and blogger Paul Corrigan on where the NHS reforms are headed, and continue with a view from a chief executive – Julie Moore, from University Hospital Birmingham.
The keynote speaker on Tuesday, 8 November will be Tim Kelsey, the government’s transparency tsar. Other speakers on the Information Revolution will include Dr Mohammad Al-Ubaydli, founder and chief executive of Patients Know Best.
EHI is also delighted to confirm that for the second year running the Royal College of Radiologists imaging informatics group will be co-locating its autumn meeting with EHI Live. The group has organised sessions on hot topics in digital imaging, including storage and how to “future proof” systems.
