PCTI has announced that the Church Stretton Medical Practice in Shropshire has become the 5,000th customer for its Docman workflow and collaboration product.
The practice is part of a Shropshire County Primary Care Trust and NHS Telford and Wrekin project to provide GP practices with PCTI’s Docman, Intellisense and Electronic Document Transfer.
Practice manager Julia Thompson, said: “We have already noticed efficiencies within the practice. Scanning time has been massively reduced and letters are now sent electronically to the doctors [who] really like the system.
“Docman works seamlessly with EMIS LV, it feels like the same system. We are looking forward to receiving many of our hospital letters electronically into Docman when the Electronic Document Transfer module is rolled-out.”
Barry Patsalides from NHS Telford and Wrekin, which also provides IT services to Shropshire PCT, said: “The Docman project has been a real success and remains well on plan.
“The main drivers were to enable practices to receive documents electronically from hospitals, improve patient safety, and provide industry-strength document management systems, designed specifically for GPs.”
The Docman software works side by side with clinical systems and recently won accreditation from EMIS for its new EMIS Web product.
PCTI says the 5,000 practices using the solution process 1.5m documents every week for over 20m patients.
