The shortlist for the E-Health Insider Awards 2010 in association with BT has been announced. Thirty four entries have been shorlisted for the nine categories, from a record 213 entries.
The winners will be announced at a black tie awards ceremony on Wednesday, 6 October, at the newly refurbished Grand Hall at the Grand Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden, London.
Now in their fourth year, the awards seek out and reward outstanding work within the UK healthcare IT sector. Linda Davidson, co-founder of E-Health Insider and a member of the judging panel, said the standard of entries this year was particularly high.
“The judging panel had an enjoyable and challenging two days discussing the list of finalists for 2010,” she said. “We look forward to celebrating with sponsors and finalists on 6 October.”
Peter Smith, director of BT's local service provider programme, agreed, adding: "Having sponsored the EHI Awards since they began four years ago, BT has never failed to be impressed by the high standard of entries, which seem to get better and better every year.
“It’s good to see that quality and innovation is alive and thriving in today's NHS. As one of the largest supplier of ICT systems and services to the health service BT is delighted to be able to play its part in recognising these achievements."
More information about the finalists can be found on the awards’ website. Further reaction from the judges can be seen in last week’s EHI TV.
EHI will be announcing the shortlist for the IT Champion of the Year award, which is decided by readers, shortly.
