Alert signs third UK EPR deal

12 July 2010   Sarah Bruce

Alert Life Sciences has signed its third deal in the UK for its clinical information system and electronic patient record system.

The Portuguese software company has signed the deal with the Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London, as part of a wider reconfiguration and change programme being undertaken by the hospital.

It will implement several modules from Alert including Alert referral, Alert eLearning and Alert paper free hospital which includes outpatient, waiting room, prescription, scheduling, EPR, data warehousing and audit trail functionality.

Michelle Lahey, Bupa Cromwell Hospital’s chief executive, said: “The selection of Alert as the Bupa Cromwell Hospital's new clinical information system represents a fundamental component of our plans to redevelop the hospital and transform the way we deliver patient care.

“Alert will completely change the way in which our staff and consultants interact with one another. Most importantly, this system represents a significant opportunity to improve the care we provide to our patients and their families.”

Alert currently only has two other customers in the UK; Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Hospitals NHS Foundation - which is preparing to go live at the beginning of September - and CircleBath, which went live with the system earlier this year.

César Guimarães, Alert’s chief executive said: "Alert is proud and honored that Bupa Cromwell Hospital has chosen to implement the Alert paper free hospital suite to support its clinical services.

“This is our third contract in the UK and demonstrates how the Alert solution is becoming the solution of choice in this important market. Alert is fully committed to the UK and we continue to consistently grow our expertise, team and client base within our UK organisation."
