Primary care system supplier TPP has announced that more than ten million patients in England and Wales now have records held on its clinical computer system, SystmOne.
The system, supplied to three national programme regions by local service provider CSC as an interim GP solution ahead of the arrival of Lorenzo, holds the records for one in six people in the UK and one in five people in England, according to TPP.
The company has also said that by the end of the financial year, the vast majority of primary care trusts across the Eastern side of England will be live with SystmOne Community and SystmOne Child Health.
TPP was founded ten years ago. The company said that about 20 GP practices a month are currently moving over to SystmOne.
Co-founder Satvinder Virk said: “The direction this is all heading in is making SystmOne the hub of primary care in the UK. I genuinely believe that. We want to make TPP the primary care supplier for the UK and we think that’s achievable.”
The majority of SystmOne installations have been deployed under the LSP contract for the North, North West and East of England, although there have also been deployments in Wiltshire, Devon and Dorset.
TPP added: “This is likely to significantly increase as the SystmOne solution will be made available to GP practices in the Southern and London areas, supported with funding from NHS Connecting for Health.”
However CSC, which plans to supply SystmOne under GP Systems Choice, has yet to sign its GPSoC contract with CfH and is also currently still in renegotiations over its LSP contract.
A spokesperson for TPP said TPP, CfH and CSC were unable to comment on when SystmOne would be available under GPSoC as it was “subject to the terms being currently negotiated under the contract renegotiations."
