EHI Awards 2011

EHI Awards 2011 in association with BT

The EHI Awards 2011 in association with BT were presented at a black tie dinner at the Grand Connaught Rooms in central London last Thursday. The judges, headed by Katie Davis, the managing director of NHS Informatics, had a hard job choosing between more than 200 entries in nine categories.

  • RealTime Health named the EHI Awards 2011 Overall Winner

  • Comedian Sean Lock

  • A glamorous venue – the Grand Connought Rooms in Covent Garden

  • Preparing for celebrations

  • The celebrations begin

On the night, the overall award went to RealTime Health, a system that helps hospitals to reduce length of stay while improving care, and the Healthcare IT Champion of the Year award went to James Norman, IT director of Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The winners were often all but overwhelmed to receive recognition for projects that have often required close engagement with clinical colleagues over a number of years. But all of them were, of course, delighted when they recovered their power of speech.

Visitors to EHI Live 2011 will be able to find out more about RealTime Health and a number of the other winners. For the first time, EHI is running an Awards Theatre as part of the free exhibition at the two day show at the NEC in Birmingham from 7-8 November. Registration is open now.
