New research from EHI Intelligence reveals that the English NHS hospital sector is about to commit to spending £2.7 billion to deliver electronic patient records.
The electronic patient records: the £2.7 billion opportunity report focuses on how NHS trusts are picking up the pieces from the long wind down of the National Programme for IT in the NHS and its failure to deliver record systems to trusts. EHI Intelligence has identified more than 120 trusts that will be contracting for new EPR and EPR-like systems over the next three years.
The investigation included interrogation of the EHI Intelligence NHS Trust Database, structured interviews with the IT directors of 11 trusts about their plans, and an examination of recent tenders, strategies and other documents.
