What does this statement in the info strategy mean for the future of NHS Choices? - any ideas?

"The Department of Health and other central bodies will, over time,

stop providing certain information where this is better done by the

market. For instance, we will no longer provide patient comment –

instead we will show patient comment from a number of routes."

Doesn't look good, does it?

The strategy says (p62, section 4.37) that the portal will drop in under 999 and NHS 111 as the 'main way' for patients to access national information about health, care and support. Also that it will bring together 'the best of' NHS Choices, NHS Direct online, NHS 111 online, and Healthspace. So the future doesn't look good for any of those. NHS Choices looks even more doomed by another bit of the strategy saying the government wants to get out of patient comment. Will we miss it?
