Ignoring the IT system support which can be provided by anyone. What do people anticipate for health informatics? Will it be small firms working for a several CCGs, contracted in for short periods, the GP Suppliers extending into community. From what I've seen of community health suppliers, I'm not sure they will last, clinical content is poor - good appointment systems.. thoughts?

I am looking to do an Insight feature on this very thing and am keen to speak to any HIS directors keen to talk about what their future might look like so get in contact if you are interested! The BMA and other organisations are certainly concerned that small NHS providers will be pushed out, but some are making proactive moves to become more competitive and they have the advantage of experience and familiarity so who knows??
