In its foundation year the EHI CCIO Leaders Network built on the successful launch phase of the EHI campaign calling for chief clinical information officers. The network aims to bring together all clinicians who have an interest in the use of information to improve patient care and how greater clinical leadership in this area is essential. The EHI CCIO Leaders Network will continue to be delivered through a series of events, in conjunction with the royal colleges and other key supporters of the campaign, to further several different professional development themes and specific clinical areas that a CCIO role would help to address. The network enables discussion between current and future CCIOs on the issues surrounding this post and all areas of clinical informatics by building a community to support them.
2013 will see a growing online community of current and future CCIOs as well as all clinicians who have a particular interest in information and leadership. The events programme will continue to support and highlight pockets of brilliance around the country and bring together future leaders in this space. The events programme and online community will once again come together at the CCIO Leaders Network Annual Conference in November.
